We established Fish in Cowes in early 2009 because we were frustrated by living on an Island, surrounded by water and there being a lack of places to buy really fresh fish, caught in local waters, by local fisherman.
Our purpose at Fish is to showcase the freshest fish and shellfish that our local waters have to offer, supporting local fishermen whenever possible.
The Solent and surrounding waters to the Island are limited at certain times of the year as to what fish are available. At such times it is necessary for us to sell fish that has been caught further afield. When this happens, we do not lesson our commitment to providing our customers with freshest fish possible. We work closely with one of the most well respected suppliers in the trade, Cornwall based Tim Alsop, who supplies us with the most amazing array of West Country fish within 24 hours of it being caught.
In December 2009, we open our second Fish shop in Richmond, Surrey. The fish sold in Richmond is supplied by exactly the same chain of fishermen and suppliers so the quality and freshness can be equally assured.
